Avalanche is about 24 km from Ooty, tucked away from the town's hustle and bustle. The misty mountain trail features dense forests, waterfalls, forest streams, and stunning wildlife. The trek route leads to Kolaribetta peak, the 2nd highest peak in Tamil Nadu next to Doddabetta. One of the most beautiful trekking trails of the state, it harbors a spectacle with its picturesque landscape views, pristine forest types, salubrious climate and many endemic flora and fauna.
